The rare Hippopotamus Moth resides in The Panama Jungle
of course bugs are never there when you want them. They are always there when you don't want them. Most would imagine that finding bugs to photograph is easy but we had to look for these interesting ones. We even had to leash them for them to stay still enough for documentation.
Ants in The Panama Jungle
The flowers grow everywhere on the estate. Photographing flowers takes the right light, the right lens and a lot of patience. The best time is after a light rain. The water on the petals adds a glisten and the light is usually subdued after the rain. a tripod is very important even if you have a steady hand. One trick is using the right aperture and to do so the camera is in slow mode. finding the right flower to photograph can only be done at the same time of photography due to the rain and the light so don't waste time looking before hand. Of course you can cheat by picking the flowers and setting them up but that takes the fun out of the shoot.
